Monks And HospitalityIn keeping with the Benedictine spirit of hospitality as enshrined in the words of St Benedict himself, "Guests to the monastery should be received as Christ", The monks of St Benedict monastery, have created a unique atmosphere in an environment that is designed to provide guests of the monastery the opportunity to encounter God in the silence and solitude of the Retreat House. Who can to Use Our FacilitiesThe retreat house is open to all who wish to use the facility to encounter God outside the busy routine of civil society. Ewumonks Retreat House is an ultra-modern retreat facility providing the spiritual atmosphere for spiritual reflection usually with retreat direction provided by monks who are specially trained in directing retreats and helping those who may need the service. The Standard CostOwing to the fact that the cost of running the retreat complex comes solely from fees and donations from retreatants, guests and friends of the monastery, all who wish to use the retreat facility are required to make a minimum donation of N2,000 per night. Larger donation will be appreciated. Retreat MethodThe service of a Retreat Master or Retreat Director is usually made available to every retreatant unless he or she prefers otherwise. It is the responsibility of the Retreat Director to provide a systematic guide for retreatant during the period of retreat. This guide is usually a form of spiritual direction for the retreatant aimed at helping him or her with a perspective that is usually not obvious or possibly shedding light on some grey areas of life. |
